Our New Little Baby

This little bird was just an egg when we rescued it from a downed tree limb last Tuesday during the hail storm. On a whim, we decided to try and incubate him and the other two eggs. Well, the others didn't make it, but this one is beating the odds of survival. The most exciting part for all of us was watching him actually hatch out of his egg. The studies don't give odds of survival for captive birds that have no hair (not that I have found). So, for him to be completely raised by human hands and still be alive is a complete miracle. We've named him Tuck, because he always tucks into a ball to sleep.

He's now three days old having hatched on Sunday.

This Saturday

For all of the Moms
Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart
go walking around outside your body. ~Elizabeth Stone
This year we here at Tammy Leker Photography have come to have a new appreciation for family photos. We have had a very dear member of our family pass away without a "formal" portrait of our whole family. Sure, we have plenty of pictures of Pop with our little boy and snapshots taken throughout the years, but not one that we can hang on the wall with everyone in it. This has made me think of all those times we had that we could have simply walked into the camera room and taken a quick portrait that we would have forever. Now, we don't have that chance with Pop and for Mother's Day, we don't want you to miss that chance either.

This Saturday, May 9, 2009, we will be in the studio from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. During this time, you will be able to come in and take a family portrait with your kids or your mom or with everyone at no charge to you. Additionally, every session that comes in will receive a free 5x7 as well. These will be mini sessions that last for about 15 minutes (depending on the kids). No appointment is necessary and walk ins are accepted. However, if you will email me and let me know you're planning on coming, that would be fantastic.
This year we've learned in a new way, that life is precious. Don't let this opportunity to capture it pass.
Happy Mother's Day to all of you.
This is our Mother's Day gift to you.

Budding Photographer

One of my favorite pictures was taken of little Ms. E. when we had the bunnies in studio for Easter. E. has decided that she wants to be a photographer and she takes her camera with her everywhere. So, of course she had to end her session by taking pictures of the bunnies. I couldn't resist snapping a few myself. The bunnies loved it too! This is one where one of the bunnies decided they too could pose. Thanks for great memories Ms. E!

Dakota again rocked it out for the Conway Bridal Fair. He was awesome and got to walk by himself this time! He wowed the audience and got them to all clap and wave to him. One man even gave him a dollar for doing such a good job! Dakota we're sooo proud of you! You really rocked!
